About this book

Rakesfall is a standalone science fiction novel by Vajra Chandrasekera. It won the Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction and the Otherwise Award, and was a finalist for the Nebula Award for Best Novel and the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel. The novel follows two souls, Annelid and Leveret, bound together across multiple lifetimes. They first meet as children during the Sri Lankan civil war, finding each other in a fractured nation and seeking truth beyond propaganda. An act of violence in a demon-haunted wood links their souls and sets them on a journey through the ages. As the two reincarnate deeper into the future, the narrative traces their souls across endless lifetimes, exploring human possibility through their connection. The book is sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
