Eve Hatch, who lives in Brooklyn near her childhood best friend Willa and far from her traditional Midwestern family, expects her life to remain predictable. Her job is comfortable if not ideal, and she values the stability of her routine—until an uncharacteristic one-night stand results in an unplanned pregnancy. The pregnancy disrupts Eve's relationships. Her friendship with Willa becomes strained at a moment when Eve needs support most.
