Kat Adair, a fisherman's daughter, rescues a drowning man from the sea and becomes convinced she is in love with him—Egyptologist David Turnberry. To remain close to him in elite London society, she feigns amnesia. However, archaeologist Hunter MacDonald, David's best friend, sees through her deception and is determined to protect David.
