Rolling Toward Clear Skies: A Novel

Maggie Blount, a divorced California physician and mother of two, pauses her private practice to work with Doctors on Wheels, a mobile medical service. After a category five hurricane in rural Louisiana, she meets two orphaned sisters and their puppy and decides to bring them into her home. The two sisters, Jean and Rose, are grateful and humble about their new life in the affluent community of Vista del Mar. However, Maggie's own teenage daughters, Willa and Gemma, resist having strangers join their privileged household. The blended family quickly faces conflict. Maggie must teach her biological daughters about gratitude and empathy while acknowledging her own role in raising them to be entitled. She works to repair the damage while meeting the needs of all four girls and a puppy, all while managing natural disasters both distant and near.
