Starfarers

SETI scientists detect starship trails in a distant galaxy, suggesting the possibility of alien contact. A crew of space explorers is assembled to undertake a mission to make contact with extraterrestrial races light years away. The explorers must leave Earth behind, knowing that twelve hundred centuries will pass before they can return, if they return at all. Despite the sacrifice of leaving behind their lives and loved ones, the crew's desire to learn about the universe and the alien races inhabiting it drives them forward. The Envoy launches into space on a perilous mission that will transform everyone involved, while the passing millennia reshape Earth in unforeseen ways.
