Isabel "El" Watson, an accountant, fails to land a sales position at her company after an awkward interview with her grumpy boss. When she meets someone at a local wine festival and is offered a sales job at a new boutique winery, she accepts. She also begins texting with a man she danced with at the festival, believing she has the correct number. Unbeknownst to El, the number she was given belongs to Boston, not Chad. Boston's friend Chad gave out Boston's number as a joke. When El texts Boston that night, he chooses not to correct her. What Boston hasn't told her: he is her former grumpy boss, he now works at his mother's winery where El just accepted a job, and he has long harbored a crush on her. As El and Boston work together at the winery, they develop a connection through their text exchanges. El is drawn to both Boston and the person texting her, unaware they are the same person. The story explores whether Boston will reveal the truth about the texts, or if El will discover it herself.
