The Dog That Saved Stewart Coolidge: A Novel

A light-hearted love story about a young couple brought together by a stray dog. When a stray dog steals a bone from a supermarket display, his actions have unexpected consequences. Stewart Coolidge, who works as a bag boy at the store, is tasked by his outraged boss with catching the thieving animal and offered a reward. Though he fails to catch the dog, the incident gives Stewart an excuse to talk to his neighbor Lisa, whom he finds attractive. Lisa, who dreams of becoming a journalist, asks Stewart if she can interview him for the local paper. As she gets to know him, she develops feelings for him and is pleased to discover he shares her Christian faith—though Stewart does not correct her misunderstanding, as he is not religious. When the stray dog appears at their building's doorstep, Stewart decides to shelter the animal. The dog, however, seems to possess an unusual understanding of human affairs and takes it upon himself to bring Stewart and Lisa together.
