The Fellowship Of The Ring: Being the First Part of The Lord of the Rings

The Fellowship of the Ring is the first volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic adventure The Lord of the Rings. In ancient times, the Elven-smiths crafted the Rings of Power. Sauron, the Dark Lord, forged the One Ring and filled it with his own power to rule all others. The Ring was taken from him and lost throughout the ages until it came into the possession of Bilbo Baggins, as recounted in The Hobbit. In the Shire, a sleepy village, young Frodo Baggins receives the Ring from his elderly cousin Bilbo. Frodo must leave his home and undertake a dangerous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, where he must destroy the Ring and prevent the Dark Lord from achieving his evil purpose.
