The Night Remembers

Angela Prescott relocates to an unfamiliar city to escape a man who has threatened her safety. Wary and isolated at first, she encounters twelve-year-old Tommy T, a street-smart comic book artist without a home. Tommy T has discovered a mysterious recluse living in an underground hideaway whose face he has never seen. He finds in this stranger the superhero figure he needs to believe in. The recluse is Jesse Brown Wolf, whose past has driven him to live in shadows. By day he works as a repairman fixing plumbing in Angela's building. By night he acts with reckless bravery to make the streets safer for children, while also whispering promises of comfort and security to Angela as she sleeps. The novel incorporates Native American folklore into a contemporary story centered on themes of hope, courage, and love's power to uplift the human spirit.
