The story follows ten-year-old Troy Fischer as he prepares for Halloween and his garage haunted attraction called Scream in the Dark. However, a mysterious outbreak begins affecting the town's children, prompting local doctors and the sheriff to search for its source. As the community prepares for the fall season, an ancient evil lurks hidden from view. The narrative weaves together everyday autumn activities—children discussing Halloween costumes, secret meetings between lovers—with an emerging threat that disrupts the town's postcard-perfect appearance. The book has received the Sacred Crypt Award for Best Novel and endorsement from actress and producer Felissa Rose. It is the first book in The Ojanox Series.
