The Perfect Child

Christopher and Hannah are a surgeon and nurse living what appears to be an ideal life, but they lack a child. When Janie, a six-year-old who has been abandoned, arrives at their hospital, Christopher develops an immediate bond with her and persuades Hannah to adopt her. However, Janie proves to be a challenging child whose psychological damage exceeds what her new parents anticipated. While Janie is intensely attached to Christopher, she exhibits increasingly disturbing behavior directed toward Hannah. Hannah struggles to connect with Janie and feels overwhelmed by the situation, while Christopher resists acknowledging Janie's problematic conduct. Hannah believes Janie is deliberately manipulating Christopher and driving a wedge between them, despite her efforts to strengthen their family bond. As Janie's actions escalate and threaten to destabilize Christopher and Hannah's marriage, revelations about Janie's past history may push all three of them toward a breaking point.
