The Reluctant Reaper

The Reluctant Reaper follows Amara Morrigan, the daughter of Death, who has no desire to inherit her father's role. Amara's childhood was marked by the loss of her best friend and favorite teacher, events that left her unwilling to accept the family business despite understanding they were simply their time to go. Amara possesses the ability to sense when anyone she meets will die, including her best friend Gray. Though Gray accepts who she is and is supportive, Amara keeps her distance because she knows his death is approaching soon. When Amara's father mysteriously falls into a coma—something that should be impossible—she is pulled back to her hometown of Minot, North Dakota. With other death gods gathering and her mother struggling, Gray insists on accompanying her. Faced with limited options, Amara reluctantly agrees to temporarily assume her father's mantle while she works to understand what has happened and find a solution. She is determined this arrangement will not be permanent.
