The Sweet Spot: A Novel

In Greenwich Village, three women unexpectedly become connected when a baby arrives on their doorstep—a child who belongs to none of them. Shortly after moving in, Lauren inadvertently becomes involved in the dissolution of a marriage between neighbors she has never met. In her anger, Melinda causes a public disturbance at Felicity's Soho boutique—an incident captured on film. Olivia, a young employee at the boutique with significant dreams and debt, becomes caught in the conflict. When she attempts to calm Melinda, she loses her job after the incident spreads on TikTok. When Melinda's ex-husband follows his new partner across the country but leaves their baby behind, the three women band together to care for the child, navigate forgiveness, and locate the absent parents. The novel explores whether their makeshift community can find the happiness each of them seeks.
