Thin Girls: A Novel

Twin sisters Rose and Lily Winters share an unusually close bond—they feel each other's emotions and physical sensations. Since childhood, both have struggled with body image and insecurity. In high school, they develop opposing relationships with food: when Rose stops eating, Lily consumes everything Rose refuses. Years later, Rose is in a rehabilitation facility for anorexia, with Lily as her only visitor. Lily works as a kindergarten teacher but dates abusive men and joins an extreme cult-diet group led by a social media figure, beginning to lose weight rapidly. Determined to help her sister, Rose works toward leaving the facility. The novel examines the twins' interconnected struggles with eating, body image, relationships, and their complicated bond—exploring what it means to inhabit a female body while navigating insecurity, desire, and the need for connection.
