Unbalanced

Detective Asante Royo, a by-the-book investigator in Fall River, is called to an apparent suicide at an apartment complex known for prostitution and drug activity. The case troubles him, and when his investigation is shut down, he struggles to accept it. Jaden Sanders, an unstable loner living across the hall from the crime scene, is attacked by three men in his apartment. He kills two in self-defense and stabs the third. Jaden is arrested for murder. With no clear explanation for the home invasion or Jaden's violent response, Royo must determine what actually happened before more people are harmed. His only information comes from Jaden's account—the perspective of someone genuinely unbalanced. Royo must decide whether Jaden is a victim caught in an unjust system or a dangerous killer.
