Untouched by Human Hands: Stories

This collection contains thirteen stories by Robert Sheckley. "Seventh Victim" is the short version of Sheckley's novel The 10th Victim, which was adapted into a film, and depicts people hunting and killing one another as public entertainment to win prizes. The other twelve stories included are "The Monsters," "Cost of Living," "The Altar," "Shape," "The Impacted Man," "Untouched by Human Hands," "The King's Wishes," "Warm," "The Demons," "Specialist," "Ritual," and "Beside Still Waters." Throughout his career, Sheckley earned recognition from fans, reviewers, and fellow authors as a master storyteller and satirist in science fiction. Open Road has republished his work, which includes nearly thirty volumes of full-length novels and short story collections. According to the New York Times, Sheckley was "a precursor to Douglas Adams."
