Granny Weatherwax, the most respected non-leader of a coven of solitary witches, teams with Nanny Ogg and Margat Garlick to save a prince and restore him to the throne of Lancre. Though witches typically avoid involvement in worldly affairs, circumstances force them into royal intrigue. Granny Weatherwax discovers that stirring up trouble in a castle proves more difficult than theatrical types suggest, even with unexpected spells at her disposal. Wyrd Sisters draws from or parodies elements of William Shakespeare's works. The novel is the sixth Discworld book and the second in the Witches collection, which also includes Equal Rites, Witches Abroad, Lords and Ladies, Masquerade, and Carpe Jugulum. Discworld novels can be read in any order.
