Two years ago, Ava's son Noah disappeared near the dock at their Church Island home and was never found. Most people, including her husband, believe the boy drowned. Ava spent much of the past two years in Seattle mental institutions, devastated by grief and unable to remember the details of Noah's disappearance. Now back at Neptune's Gate, the family estate, Ava's strength is slowly returning. As her mind clears, she becomes convinced that her family and psychologist are hiding something from her. She secretly visits a hypnotist to recover her lost memories, but strange visions and night terrors intensify. Ava hears what sounds like Noah crying in the nursery and sees what might be him near the dock. Unsure whether she is losing her grip on reality or if Noah might still be alive, Ava is determined to uncover the truth. However, the answers she seeks come with a dangerous price.
