Scarlett Vandermeer, a junior at Stanford and platform diver, focuses on her studies and recovery from a career-threatening injury while pursuing med school. She avoids relationships, believing she has no time for them. Lukas Blomqvist, the swim team captain and world champion, maintains strict discipline in all aspects of his life. Despite their apparent differences, a revealed secret brings them together. They begin a casual arrangement intended to be temporary. As Olympic pressure mounts, their relationship intensifies. Scarlett finds herself unable to stay away from Lukas and realizes her feelings may be deepening into dangerous territory.
