About this book

Detective-Sergeant Malcolm Ainslie, a former Catholic priest, receives a call from death row while preparing for vacation. Serial killer Elroy Doil, facing execution, requests to confess to the detective who arrested him. Ainslie drives four hundred miles to Florida State Prison to document additional homicides Doil may have committed. Doil confesses to ten other murders but denies committing the crime for which he will be executed: the killing of a city commissioner and his wife. As Ainslie investigates to identify the real killer, he uncovers corruption and danger within Miami's government, including among his own colleagues.
