When a kill goes wrong and leaves her with a broken leg, she ends up at the home of the town doctor. The story explores what happens when a broken heart cannot be easily mended, and when staying in one place allows ghosts from the past to catch up. The book includes the tropes of friends with benefits, small-town romance, fish out of water, forced proximity, hurt/care, and touch her and die.
