Perfect for you if...

You enjoy classic contemporary romance with high-stakes family drama and a hero willing to risk his fortune for love.
You appreciate Texan settings and wealthy protagonists who aren't afraid to make bold moves for the right person.
You like shorter reads that move quickly between emotional tension and intimate scenes without excessive subplot.

Maybe not for you if...

You prefer slower burns where attraction builds gradually over hundreds of pages rather than igniting immediately.
You're looking for complex family dynamics that go beyond a simple feud resolvable through one business deal.
You need extensive character backstory and world-building before you're invested in the romance.

About this book

Jake Ralston, a wealthy Texan, has promised his best friend to resolve a century-old feud between the Ralston and Kincaid families. He hires Emily Kincaid as part of this plan, though he struggles to resist their mutual attraction. When they spend time together at his ranch, both find it increasingly difficult to deny their feelings. However, a shocking family secret emerges that threatens to upend everything Jake stands to lose, including his relationship with Emily.
