About this book

Designer Tony Duquette's Dawnridge, located in Beverly Hills, is one of the most creatively designed private homes in America. Built in 1949 by Duquette and his wife, Elizabeth, the original structure was a modest 30 x 30 foot box. Following Duquette's death in 1999, Hutton Wilkinson purchased the home and has since expanded the property, added houses of his own design, and incorporated remarkable objects created by the Duquettes. This book chronicles the estate's transformation through its three main houses. Wilkinson describes the spectacular design elements in each room and explains the stories behind the spaces. Photographs by Tim Street-Porter document both the original and redesigned rooms.
