The Dreamcast Encyclopedia is the fifth book in Chris Scullion's series of video game encyclopedias. The Sega Dreamcast was a console notable for its advanced graphics and built-in modem that enabled online multiplayer gaming on home systems. Despite these features, the console struggled commercially following the release of the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox. Sega discontinued the Dreamcast after two years and exited console manufacturing. Though a commercial failure, the Dreamcast developed a devoted following and is remembered by owners as one of the greatest gaming consoles. The system accumulated a library of high-quality games. This encyclopedia covers all games released for the platform: approximately 270 western titles and roughly 340 games exclusive to Japan, totaling over 600 games. Each title includes screenshots.
