The House of Lies

Chris Harcourt is dying of cancer at fifty-one. On his deathbed, his wife Jess reveals a secret she has kept for decades: she slept with each of his three closest friends as revenge for his affair years earlier. The revelation shatters the tight-knit group. Shortly after, the men begin to die under violent circumstances: a slashed throat on a golf course, a stabbing in a school car park, and a hit-and-run accident. Detectives Will Stewart and Claire Landon investigate the murders, their investigation leading them to Elsa Manvers, Chris's former carer. However, the detectives discover an unexpected twist: the real killers remain at large, concealed among those closest to the case. The true motive and perpetrators are far more complex than initially suspected.
